Rest Day: Homecoming Anxiety

Week 14: Homecoming Anxiety

RestInner Child

Songkran week is almost here. The festivities, the travel, the family time—it's all coming.

Today, before any of that begins, take this day to rest.

Pre-storm calm:

Think of today as charging your battery before a long journey.

You'll need energy for:

  • Travel (if you're going home)
  • Navigating family dynamics
  • Staying grounded when triggered
  • Being present for the good parts
  • Recovery afterward

If you go into Songkran already depleted, you'll have nothing to draw from.

Your rest practice:

Today, do the opposite of preparing:

  • Don't pack (that can wait)
  • Don't make calls (unless they're restful)
  • Don't scroll family group chats
  • Don't anticipate problems

Just rest.

Sleep in. Take a long shower. Eat slow. Move slow. Be quiet.

Let today be a sanctuary of calm before whatever comes next.

A gentle reminder:

However Songkran goes—good, bad, complicated—you'll get through it. You always have. And afterward, you'll return to your own life, your own space, your own peace.

This is just a chapter, not the whole book.

When you need calm in the storm, Calm Loop Toolkit is your portable sanctuary.
