A Small Step: Decision Fatigue
The secret of highly productive people? They don't make unnecessary decisions.
Today, you'll automate some of yours.
Decisions you can eliminate:
What to wear:
- Create a capsule wardrobe with mix-and-match basics
- Prep outfits the night before
- Have a "uniform" for work (like Steve Jobs' turtleneck)
What to eat:
- Meal prep on weekends
- Have 3-4 default breakfasts/lunches that you rotate
- Same grocery list each week
When to exercise:
- Same time, same days, non-negotiable
- Workout clothes ready the night before
Daily routine:
- Fixed morning routine that runs on autopilot
- Fixed evening routine that requires no thought
Your action:
Pick ONE recurring decision that drains you. Create a system or default for it.
Examples:
- "I always eat oatmeal for breakfast" = no breakfast decisions
- "I always work out at 7am" = no timing decisions
- "I wear jeans + neutral top to work" = minimal outfit decisions
Boring? Maybe. But boring decisions free energy for interesting ones.
