A Small Step: The Coin Flip

It's May 31st. Half the year is almost behind you.

Today's assignment: make one decision you've been avoiding.

The decision doesn't have to be huge:

  • That email you've put off responding to? Answer it.
  • That item you've meant to return? Do it.
  • That conversation you've avoided? Have it.
  • That choice between two options? Pick one.

How to do it:

  1. Identify the decision. What have you been putting off?

  2. Set a timer. 5 minutes to decide.

  3. Use any method. Coin flip. Gut check. Pro/con list. 10-second rule.

  4. Commit. Once decided, no take-backs for at least 24 hours.

  5. Notice. How do you feel after deciding? Probably: relief.

Why today:

May is ending. A new month begins tomorrow.

Don't carry old decisions into June. Clear the backlog. Start fresh.

The weight of indecision is heavier than any imperfect choice.

Your one decision:

What is it? Decide. Now. Before midnight.

Welcome to June.
