A Small Step: The Burning Letter

Today, write your burning letter.

The burning letter ceremony:

Step 1: Choose your recipient
Who do you need to write to? Could be parent, ex, friend, yourself, the universe.

Step 2: Find solitude
Private space. No interruptions. Allow 30+ minutes.

Step 3: Write without filter
Start writing. Don't censor. Don't edit. Let it all pour out—rage, grief, love, questions. Keep going until you feel empty.

Step 4: Read it aloud (optional but powerful)
Hear your own words. Let them resonate in the air.

Step 5: Burn it
Safely. Outside, metal container, water nearby. Watch the paper transform to ash and smoke. Breathe. Let go.

Step 6: Witness the aftermath
Notice how you feel. Lighter? Sadder? Relieved? All are valid.

Safety notes:

  • Burn safely (outdoor, fire-safe container)
  • Don't burn indoors
  • Have water nearby
  • Watch until fully extinguished

The fire transforms. You release. This is ancient magic, still effective.
