Rest Day: The Burning Letter
After fire, rest.
After release, stillness.
Today, let the ashes settle.
Post-burning integration:
If you wrote and burned your letter, you might feel:
- Lighter and relieved
- Sad and tender
- Empty and uncertain
- All of the above in rotation
All are normal. Major release creates aftershocks.
Today, don't do more heavy work. Let what happened integrate. Let the ashes settle inside you.
A resting practice:
Notice: where did you carry those words before? That spot in your body that held the unsaid?
Check in with it now. Is it softer? Still processing? Give it attention. Say: "Thank you for releasing. Rest now."
If you haven't burned yet:
That's okay too. The practice waits for when you're ready. There's no deadline for healing.
Today, rest either way. Rest for having held so much. Rest for being willing to release.
Grief Compass Journal honors post-release rest.
