A Small Step: Forgiveness is Freedom

August ends tomorrow. Before it goes, let's begin—just begin—to practice forgiveness.

Micro-forgiveness:

Big forgiveness is hard. Start with something small.

Think of a small annoyance from the past week:

  • Someone who was rude
  • A driver who cut you off
  • A minor slight from a coworker
  • A small disappointment from a friend

Practice releasing it:

  1. Recall the annoyance. Feel the irritation.
  2. Say: "This person is human. They may have had reasons I don't know. I release this small anger. I choose peace."
  3. Visualize setting down a small weight.
  4. Breathe. Let go.

Why start small:

Forgiveness is a skill. Like any skill, you build it through practice.

Small forgiveness makes big forgiveness possible. Trust the process.
