Everything you knew about strength might be wrong.
We were taught that strength means:
- Not crying
- Not needing help
- Pushing through no matter what
- Never showing weakness
- Always having the answer
But what if that definition of strong is actually making you weaker?
The New Strong:
The truly strong are the ones who:
- Feel their emotions and don't run from them
- Ask for help when they need it
- Know when to rest and when to push
- Are vulnerable enough to be truly known
- Admit what they don't know
- Fall apart when necessary, then come back together
This isn't weakness disguised as strength. It's strength evolved.
The old strong was about armor. The new strong is about resilience. Armor cracks under enough pressure. Resilience bends and returns.
Try this inquiry:
Which version of "strong" have you been trying to be?
Is it working? Is it sustainable?
What might the new strong look like in your life—strength that includes vulnerability, rest, and authentic emotion?
When you're ready to discover the new strong, Grief Compass Journal can guide the way.
