This week, we've been tending to the heart. Looking at its wounds. Processing its grief. Learning how it repairs.
Today, no more processing. Just rest.
Hearts heal best when we're not poking at them.
Permission for stillness:
You don't have to think about your grief today.
You don't have to understand it or work through it.
You don't have to make meaning or find silver linings.
Today, just let your heart sit in stillness. Like a bone that's mending. Like a wound that's closing. Some of the best repair happens without our conscious involvement.
What rest might look like today:
- Time in nature—even just sitting by a window
- Warm drinks held in both hands
- Soft blankets
- Quiet music or complete silence
- The presence of a pet or trusted person
- Doing something small that brings the tiniest spark of pleasure
- Or nothing at all
Your heart has been working hard this week. This month. This year. This lifetime.
Let it rest.
