Today, you'll write a script for your inner parent—the words you needed to hear as a child, that you can now say to yourself.
This becomes your internal voice.
Creating your inner parent script:
Complete these sentences. Be specific. Be generous:
When I'm scared, my inner parent says:
"_____________________________________"
(Example: "I'm here. We'll face this together. You're not alone.")
When I make a mistake, my inner parent says:
"_____________________________________"
(Example: "Everyone makes mistakes. What matters is that you tried. Let's learn and move on.")
When I'm tired, my inner parent says:
"_____________________________________"
(Example: "You've done enough today. Rest now. Tomorrow is another chance.")
When I feel unworthy, my inner parent says:
"_____________________________________"
(Example: "You are worthy simply because you exist. You don't have to earn love or rest.")
Using your script:
When you notice old, critical self-talk, pause. Pull out these phrases.
Say them to yourself—out loud if possible. Let your inner parent speak instead of your inner critic.
